COVID-19 Protocol

The health and safety of our patients and practitioners is our top priority. Below is a description of the various precautions the clinic will be taking at this time, as well as expectations of patients and practitioners during this time. The following protocol is designed to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Covid-19 screening

All patients must complete the COVID-19 screening prior to your scheduled appointment. 24-hours prior to your appointment you will receive a COVID-19 screening questionnaire via email, please complete this online questionnaire before arriving for your appointment.

All patients and practitioners must be free from COVID-19 symptoms, which include:

  • Fever, cough, shortness of breath

  • Flu or cold-like symptoms

  • Muscle aches/joint pain

  • Decrease or loss of taste or smell

  • Generally feeling unwell or extreme tiredness

All patients and practitioners must be free from COVID-19 exposure by meeting the criteria below:

  • Have not travelled outside of Canada in the last 5 days and have been told to self-isolate or have a negative test upon return to Canada

  • Must not have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 5 days

  • Must not have been in close contact with some suspected of having COVID-19 in the past 5 days

  • Have not been required (or notified) to self-monitor or isolate in the past 5 days

Anyone who is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or has been (potentially) exposed to COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter the clinic. If you have an appointment booked, we ask that you reschedule your appointment to a later date. Practitioners have the right to refuse a client should they be exhibiting any of the signs of COVID-19 or have not completed the COVID-19 screening questionnaire.

Upon arrival to the clinic
  • We ask that you only arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment to limit the amount of people at one time.

  • It is required to wear a mask for the duration of your time at the clinic and throughout the duration of your Osteopathic treatment. A mask will be provided if a patient does not have access to one.

  • Please only bring necessary items into your appointment. Please remove belts and extras from your pockets. These items as well as any other belongings will be placed in a bin which will be sanitized after each appointment.

  • Upon entry into the clinic, all patients are expected to sanitize their hands with the sanitizer provided.

Practitioner safety practices
  • Your practitioner will wear a mask throughout the duration of your appointment that will be changed with every patient.

  • Practitioners will thoroughly disinfect their hands proper to welcoming the patient to the clinic for treatment.

  • Following the treatment the practitioner will disinfect their hands immediately and clean shared areas with a Health Canada approved disinfectant. This includes any equipment, treatment tables, door handles and bin for personal items.

  • Your practitioner will be screening themselves prior to arrival to the clinic everyday. Should we be experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, we will be rescheduling appointments based on the advice of Public Health.
