Commonly asked questions related to osteopathic treatment provided by Form and Function Osteopathy.
What to wear to your Appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing, something you can move easily in, as treatment involves movement of all joints through different ranges of motion. Please no skirts, dresses or jeans.
How will I feel after treatment?
Each person experiences osteopathic treatment individually, and you may feel soreness, you may feel relief as the body’s structure has been adjusted. The body will self-heal and self-regulate the days following treatment.
How do I Pay?
Payments are due at the end of treatment. We accept credit, debit, or cash.
How often do I come for Treatment?
One of the fundamental principles in classical Osteopathy is "find it, fix it, and leave it alone." The practitioner will adjust what is necessary in each treatment and allow the body appropriate time to self-heal and self-regulate. Typically, at least 1-2 weeks between treatments lets the body integrate treatment as you go about your daily life. As treatment progresses, you and your Osteopathic Manual Practitioner will work together to decide how frequent your treatments need to be.
Do my extended healthcare benefits cover Osteopathy?
Yes! Your health care benefits often cover osteopathic manual treatment. Please check with your provider to confirm, as all plans are different. Michelle is a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA), which is in good standing with insurance providers in Ontario.
