Life can be an incredible journey, full of both joy and challenges. It's natural to sometimes struggle with processing emotions or feeling overwhelmed, making it difficult to know how to move forward. Recognizing these struggles and reaching out for support when you've tried everything in your toolbox takes immense courage and strength.
As your therapist, my role is to meet you where you are and support you on your healing journey. I offer a gentle, collaborative, and client-centered approach that recognizes your inherent strength and resilience. My practice emphasizes the profound connection between our feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. My goal is to empower clients with effective skills to navigate and cope with life's various challenges.
Working collaboratively, we will develop a personalized plan designed to foster a deeper understanding of your past experiences and how they influence your daily life. This process aims to promote positive change and healing.
I utilize an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from my formal training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Additionally, I incorporate elements of Mindfulness, self-compassion, and Narrative Therapy into my practice.
With over 20 years of experience in various mental health agencies, I began my career as a child and youth worker. I later pursued my education at York University, where I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work.
Please feel free to reach out to me to discuss any questions or ideas you have about therapy.
